LandRover have confirmed that when the lights come on this Dubai MotorShow 2011, we will have more than a glance at their latest conceptvehicle, the DC100. For over 50 years, (maybe 60 but who’s counting) Land Rover has drawn tracksthrough desert, forest and every other terrain and it is their Defenderthat has been favorite-d by explorers, ecologists, aid workers and even the RedCresent society for this purpose. First revealed at the FrankfurtMotor Show 2011, it is here to wow crowds of Dubai and the folks whohave come from the world over. There has seldom been a bigger dare thanreplacing an icon but LR have taken up the challenge with zeal and has producedthe DC100, their 21st century interpretation of their spirit of adventure. GerryMcGovern, Director of Design says that the concept is hardlyproduction ready, but the 4 year journey begins now. The 100' wheelbase, 8speed transmission, intelligent start/stop and roof equipped with solar panelsto power on-board systems are some specs from this multi-highlight vehicle.
